There goes the neighborhood.
Long Beach, wednesday night, the prospector. If you are familiar with this place or if you have just escaped from jail, you can skip this article. For the rest of you pay attention.
I know it is lame but why did all those old beach movies from the 60's look so fun. They have a typical night beach scene with a fire pit, surrounded by intoxicated fornicators wiggling and shaking like there's no tomorrow. But if you notice the music, there is a strange allure that makes you almost want to start convulsing like the poor subjects from that 60's beach flick. This sound would be known as Surf Rock. The re-birth of Surf Rock is known as Tijuana Panthers.
Now flash forward to wednesday night. Old kids, females, patriotic mexicans, shirtless diehards, back-of-the-room headbangers, and three dudes (Chad, Dan and Phil) all had a collective one night stand.
For a minute there were people crowd surfing, making out, and air guitaring like I've never seen before. I saw moves that even the 60's wiggle freak teenagers would have thought were borderline satanic. The party just got better as the night went on. When other photographer got laid out and did a yard sale across the stage, I knew it was on. The rest of the night was like a montage flashback from a weekend in Las Vegas.
The next afternoon my friends mom cooked us breakfast.
